Not Sure What To Write?
Not sure what to write in your own emails every week? Or what to say on social media, in videos, etc.?
I get it… That was me this morning. Just being honest.
What I really wanted to talk about what’s the fact that I’m having a hard week because my mom had to go into the ER on Monday and she’s in the hospital now. She’s probably going to be fine but she’s got an allergic reaction to something she’s all red and swollen.
So I’ve been canceling a bunch of my appointments this week to go help her and advocate for her in the hospital.
It’s times like this that make me want to talk about the “what if factor”.
But part of me said “no, don’t do that, you need to give people some kind of content instead”.
And then my brain was saying okay, so what kind of content? What do people need to know right now?
I have so much knowledge in my head on how to be a successful and profitable entrepreneur, literally almost everything you can think of that you’re going to experience, need to learn, or go through as an entrepreneur I’ve probably been there done that or I’m going through it now. And all I want to do is help people avoid the mistakes I made and succeed and make a lot more money faster.
Yesterday on my Live Big Mastermind call in fact, we ended up talking about how to navigate the “sales conversation”. Everyone there needed to find new clients, so it made sense to talk about how to do that. How to talk about attracting prospects from in person and virtual networking situations into follow up phone calls. Then we discussed common objections prospects have and how to dance with those concerns like:
- “I can’t afford it”
- “I need to discuss this with my spouse”
- “I have to wait until ___ to do this” and more….
So let me ask you: “what do you think you need to know more of right now, or learn?”
Reply back to this email let me know and I’ll put together a series of videos or articles that answer your questions, or tell you exactly what you need to know. But if you don’t give me some hints on what you’re going through, or what challenges you’re having right now, then you’re going to be searching out there on Google for the answers and you might get the wrong ones!
Meanwhile, the “what if factor”, is real.
It means, what if something happens to you or a loved one and you have to stop everything in your business to go take care of them or yourself?
- Will you lose money because you can’t work?
- Will you lose money because you can’t have sales conversations or hold webinars?
- Will you not be able to service your clients the way you need to?
- Will you not be able to get in front of new people with networking events and speaking?
- Will you not be able to get on social media the way you need to to attract clients that way?
All of that happens when life throws you a curveball unfortunately. That is, unless you want to work 24/7 and bring yourself out? I choose not to do that anymore. And you don’t have to do that anymore if you set yourself up and your business up the right way from the start, or from here and now, so that when something happens you’re prepared and you’ll still make money while you go take care of whatever needs to be taken care of.
Really think about that because most business owners I see are not prepared to go off and take care of a loved one for a week, two weeks, or even a month. I’ve had friends and clients who’ve had surgery, covid long haul, and hip replacements just in the first 4 months of this year already.
You can’t wait to set up systems in the back end of your business, set up your website so that people get what they need and can connect with you or buy things easily online, and setting up your marketing with some automation or by delegating to an assistant which you absolutely need before you can afford it! Stop avoiding what you know you need to do, find the money to invest in your business now the right way or the what if could sneak up on you too….
Your systems, processes and how you manage all of it and your entire database of people is essential. Your website is the HUB of your business (or needs to be if done right) and your technology helps run those systems so it’s not about ONE certain system, they all do various things. It’s about what’s going to work for YOU.
