Today I wanted to talk with you about your business, specifically about how much follow up you’re doing (or not doing).

The fortune is in the follow up. Do you believe that’s true?

I hope you don’t think it’s just something that us marketers or business coaches have been saying for a hundred years now?? It’s really really true!

The sad part is most entrepreneurs I talk to aren’t doing enough follow up. And you aren’t doing enough follow-up in multiple different ways especially.

What do I mean by that?

I mean you can’t rely on email only.

You have to do direct mail, phone calls, and even private message people on social media that you’ve met or your new subscribers. You have to reach out to them in multiple ways in order for them to pay attention.

Follow up is all about getting people to pay attention, to take an action, or to get to know you better so they start trusting you more so that eventually they will take an action.

Follow up is not annoying to them, your prospects. They want you to follow up with them or they wouldn’t have subscribed, given you their card, or suggested that you reach out in the first place. Wherever you find your prospects or referral sources, joint venture partners or other professional connections it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you become top of mind with those people that you meet in order for them to either hire you or refer you for the thing that you do or specialize in.

You can’t be scared to follow up. You can’t be hesitant, or overthink it. You just have to do it, and do more of it.

One of the biggest challenges most entrepreneurs tell me regarding WHY they don’t do more of it is because they don’t know what to say.

t’s the words that hold them back and keep them stuck from doing more follow-up. That AND… the fact that you think you’re being annoying.
