6 Steps to 6-Figures… yes, it CAN be this easy!
It took me 6 years to get to the 6-figure mark in my business. Not the way I thought it would go.
Although, in the beginning, my goal wasn’t even to hit 6-figures in the first place! It was just to build the business around the kind of life I wanted to live with more freedom, less stress, and a good amount of income that would allow me to live comfortably.
What is YOUR money goal? What’s holding YOU back from getting there?
When I was introduced to other entrepreneurs who were doing business online and making a whole lot of money doing it, my goals changed.
When I knew what else was possible, and I saw proof of it being possible, I knew I could do it too!
But how? That was the question.
I soon learned that I needed coaches and mentors and more training. Even though I’ve been in sales and marketing my entire life, it wasn’t enough to figure out exactly how to get more clients in my business consistently. It was much more difficult to sell myself rather than someone else
So, I hired mentors, multiple mentors, to teach me what I didn’t know I didn’t know. I learned:
- How to create different levels of offerings with different price points to match different people’s budgets.
- How to create easy yes offers so that people would buy today, on the spot!
- How to speak more clearly and without being a firehose of information so that people would want more.
- About how websites work, and funnels, and automation in the back end of your marketing so that I could manage and nurture all the leads that came in on a regular basis.
- Just enough to be dangerous regarding technology and then also learned that there is no way I could learn it all and had to hire out for some things.
- I couldn’t do it all myself, LOL, even though I wanted to to save money!
I continue learning every day from other highly successful and motivated entrepreneurs and I wouldn’t trade my life for anything right now. I love what I do, who I serve and how I do it!
That’s what I want for you!
I want to make all of this easier for you so that you can have the life you love and enjoy sooner than later!
So, I reflected on what are the top things that really got me to where I am today and most importantly, what got me to 6-figures in the very beginning in the first place? Here they are…
6 Steps to 6-Figure Success
1) Having the right pricing and product mix was key. I couldn’t have everything high-end and nothing low, and I couldn’t have everything low and nothing high-end. I realize I needed low end, middle end, and high-end programs products and services to have a good mix of recurring income regularly.
2) Positioning myself as the expert was vital to people’s perception of if I could help them or not. I had to look the part (my clothes, hair, makeup, image). I had to walk my talk with confidence. This includes what you look like on your website, social media, and when you show up to a zoom room for a speaking gig or a networking call. Everything matters.
3) Leverage everything you’ve got. Leverage your expertise into many different offerings like I mentioned before, including recording your expertise into online DIY training. Leverage your time by hiring out the things that you’re not good at or that take you way too long to complete. Leverage partnerships and joint venture collaborative people that can help you achieve your goals faster.
4) List building. You can never stop with list building. But you have so many ways of doing it these days which makes it nice. You don’t have to do any one thing if it doesn’t resonate with you. But you do have to get in front of a lot more people in a lot of different ways and then NURTURE them and that relationship consistently. For example, I do lots of speaker summits and online giveaways because they bring me anywhere from 40 to 400 new subscribers. I also do joint streaming videos with others who are complementary to what I do so that we can get in front of each other’s audiences, a free marketing strategy I highly recommend!
5) Your mindset matters. Most likely you’ll need some sort of coaching or training around something to do with your mindset because I haven’t seen anyone yet who doesn’t have limiting beliefs, self-doubt, self-worth issues or money issues. You need to have a healthy money mindset to charge higher prices and be assertive enough to ask for the sale in any situation. You need to be completely confident in your abilities regardless of if you just started your business or not. You must know your worth and not be afraid to put yourself in the spotlight.
6) The ability to sell well. Yep, you have to be an amazing salesperson. Your business revolves around sales although it doesn’t have to be salesy. Don’t be afraid to take training around how to sell better online and in person. If you’re worried about being too annoying or salesy then you probably won’t be so stop worrying about it. In the beginning, you want to shoot for 10 to 30% closing ratio when you’re in front of a group making an offer, and 50 to 75% closing ratio went in a one-on-one sales conversation. Don’t worry if you’re not there yet, I started with 0% closing ratio in a group and would close one out of seven sales one-on-one. Yep, I had to learn too.
