I see it all the time, and Iā€™ve done it myself.

One week, youā€™re bursting with inspiration. You publish killer content; you see some good responses. Then, for whatever reason ā€” a project, a vacation, a day off ā€” you lose the momentum.

And it becomes harder and harder to build back up.

But growing a profitable personal brand business, the one where š˜ŗš˜°š˜¶ are the face of the business (or the product!)… It only happens by consistently showing up. Every single day.

Ask any creator or entrepreneur what the hardest part of their job is, and I guarantee you theyā€™ll say, ā€œThe courage to keep going even after a flop or when inspiration doesn’t strike.”

The solution?

Have a scheduled content creation time block each week.

No matter what, the time gets moved for NOTHING.

I’ve seen this work for my clients. I donā€™t necessarily do this myselfĀ (just being honest)Ā because I can create content in an instant; itā€™s easy for me. Heck, I come up with ideas in the shower then dictate it to myself via email when Iā€™m getting ready.Ā But DONā€™T DO THAT if you need more structure!

If you want more clients and to grow your business, you also need to CONSISTENTLY NURTURE your database!

šŸ‘‰Ā I think thatā€™s obvious, but, because then the more referrals and happy clients you will have plus, often times they will buy more!

Ā 

What do you mean by my Database?

šŸ‘‰Ā Your email list for starters, but also you want to nurture everyone in your circles: social media followers, referral partners, clients, prospects and people in organizations that you belong to as well. (You never know who is watching, who will buy, or who will give you a great referral.)

So, what DO YOU DO to nurture them more?

Here are 9 ways on top of the 10th way, consistent content creation and visibility as mentioned above…

1. Call people ā€“ what a concept! It works… now, you usually get voicemail these days so be prepared to leave a detailed voicemail with your name, info, why youā€™re calling and perhaps also how they know you in case they forgot. Plus, remember to remind them to check their spam or trash inboxes for your emails (if they are on your list). You can do this one-on-one or send a broadcast voicemail like you might have received from me at some point. When you have a LOT of people in your database, itā€™s near to impossible to leave vms one by one.

2. Text people ONLY IF they have agreed to receive texts from you! And donā€™t assume all phone numbers you have ARE, in fact, cell phone numbers. Itā€™s better if you can create a text-message strategy with opt in and offer that but BE CONSISTENT!

3. Private Message people on your (or their) preferred social media platform. If you are connected to them, then itā€™s easy to get their attention. If they donā€™t reply quickly, that doesnā€™t mean they arenā€™t interested, it could just mean they arenā€™t on that platform often.

4. Send them a note or something fun in the mail! Yes, this works too… and itā€™s very memorable. Hardly anyone sends fun mail anymore. I like to make it ā€œbulkyā€ and something more like a small package. This is more like a gift then, and they open these first. I am on the lookout for inexpensive yet fun stuff I can slip in a notecard or a small manilla envelope all year long. It doesn’t have to cost a lot, it just needs to be “memorable”.

Yes, this means that you have to get their mailing address. Often you can find those on their websites, LinkedIn or other platforms, or by a Google Search. If not and they are on your list then I recommend running a fun contest, sale or promo for a free something then make sure that info is required on your form they have to fill out.

5. Delegate some of 1-4 to a Virtual Assistant if you need to, but still make it personal.

6. Send a video personally to them. You can email it using some apps that do that like bombbomb, or upload to messenger or inbox online.

7. Refer and connect them to someone they need to know. Do an email introduction with the two of them, or via FB or LI message.

8. Share their content, article, or post on social media.

9. Offer to host themĀ on a live broadcast or podcast if you have one or inside your email newsletter or emails.
