Great! Some of it, at least on a local basis, can be pretty easy. Other national TV or print coverage can be a little more challenging OR you have to have a good publicist with great connections that can get you in.
I’d start with the local stuff first, the free stuff. Then once you get more TV interviews, print articles, etc. under your belt, then go for national. Or if you have a very newsworthy message of course you can go national sooner, you just may want some help doing so. The media outlets pretty much deal with people they know, not an unknown person.
I’ve never really hired a publicity person or publicist but I have taken a couple workshops about it and have listened to speakers who teach it. I know a LOT of people who can do this for you at all different price points by the way… that part is not free. I can connect you with people if you need it, just hit reply!
I have gotten on my local TV stations a few times, three different ones, just by asking! I’ve also been on the cover of 3 magazines, the Top Talent Magazine below is the most current. I’m writing articles for that magazine, Lead Up for Women Magazine and Amazing Woman Magazine this month alone. Plus other publications I’ve been in including most recently the Los Angeles Tribune with a write up about Tough Love Leadership.
